Opposition must not get 10% votes in Osun, Aregbesola tasks new APC exco •You are daydreaming —PDP
GOVERNOR Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, on Saturday, tasked the new executives council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to ensure that the opposition parties does not secure up to 10 per cent votes in the forthcoming 2015 general election.
The new APC state’s council is led by the former secretary of the party, Mr Gboyega Famodun, through a consensus and ratification by party members in Osogbo, the state capital.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executive council of the party, Aregbesola charged the new party leadership to work towards ensuring that the continous lies and deception being spread by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not hold water.
He said the party should start working to see that the opposition did not have up to 10 per cent of the entire votes in the state in 2015, stressing that “this would prove to the world that Osun State is committed to good governance and the APC.”
Reacting, the publicity secretary of the PDP in Osun State, Mr Bola Ajao, described Aregbesola’s charge to the new APC executives as “the ranting of man, who is is daydreaming about matters that are not realisable,” contending that his party would defeat APC in 2015 general election.
“Aregbesola and his co-travellers are non-democrats, but political contractors. They are daydreamers. To any right thinking person, was the ratio of PDP and APC anything in the region of 90 to 10 per cent in the last governorship poll?
“As for the ongoing election petition, from the avalanche of unassailable evidence and incontrovertible evidences available to us, Aregbesola cannot survive the substantial non-compliance hurdle and from the majority lawful votes cast for our candidate in the August 9 governorship poll, Senator Iyiola Omisore. The PDP shall reclaim its stolen mandate,” Ajao said.
